Original Abstract

Optimal setting of cross roll straightening machine for given input parameters of straightened bars is still a difficult problem. Numerical simulation of the process and optimization of its parameters with standard FE codes lead to a time-consuming procedure. In the paper we present an efficient algorithm based on Eulerian description of material flow through the straightening machine. Substantial speed-up of the new algorithm is documented and the results are compared with both independent computations and experimental measurements.
