Membránová filtrační jednotka slouží pro testování různých typů membrán v aerobním i anaerobním prostředí. Zhoršení filtračních vlastností lze zařadit do dvou obecných kategorií. Jednou je samotná degradace membrány z mechanických, chemických nebo biologických příčin a druhou je samotná náchylnost k zanášení. Obecně průtokem membránami dochází k jejich postupnému zanášení a snížení průtočnosti, což vyžaduje vynaložení vyšších tlaků k udržení stálého množství permeátu. Tato skutečnost ale nemá vliv na kvalitu filtrované vody.

Membrane filtration unit is used for testing different types of membranes in aerobic and anaerobic environments. Deterioration of filter characteristics can be classified into two general categories. One is the actual degradation of the membrane from mechanical, chemical or biological cause itself and the other is prone to clogging. Generally flow membranes leads to their gradual clogging and reducing the flow rate, which requires the expenditure of higher pressures to maintain a constant amount of permeate. However, this fact does not affect the quality of the filtered water.
