Original Abstract

The article investigates the challenges of finding the best portfolio mix between emerging equities or bonds and European equities. The hope is that the process will yield results that fulfil the promise of diversification: to improve the return/risk experience of a portfolio by holding multiple assets compared to that which is possible by holding asset alone (or MSCI Europe Index alone). In fact, many have claimed that the use of foreign stocks will provide these benefits in abundance.
