Při testování radiálního uložení hřídele je uzel s testovaným uložením prostřednictvím podpůrných ložisek uložen ve skříni a opatřen snímačem výchylek hřídele a prostřednictvím budiče svislých kmitů rozkmitán s rostoucí anebo klesající frekvencí a pohonem roztočen s rostoucími resp. klesajícími otáčkami při zachování stálého poměru mezi frekvencí budiče a otáčkami, přičemž vyhodnocovací jednotka registruje a ukládá průběh okamžitých otáček uzlu, průběh okamžité frekvence buzených kmitů a průběh výchylek hřídele. Vyhodnocovací jednotka po odstranění přebytečných frekvenčních složek signálu a šumu filtrací postupuje po krocích, které vedou k hodnotám popisujícím chování testovaného uzlu.

The shaft radial bearing node is mounted into another support bearing housing and equipped with a sensor of shaft displacement and vibrations. Whole assembly is mounted on the exciter generating vertical oscillations with increasing or decreasing frequency. The shaft is driven with increasing resp. decreasing speed while maintaining a constant ratio between the frequency of excitation and speed. An analyzer unit acquire and stores the time response of speed of the node, frequency of oscillations and shaft displacement. The analyzer unit filters undesired components of signal and noise. Then it proceeds in steps which lead to the values describing the behavior of the test node.
