Original Abstract

The temperature sensor was developed to measure under-surface temperature inside work roll during hot rolling forming processes. Recorded temperature was recalculated to surface boundary condition by using inverse heat conditions task. The sensor for measuring friction in roll gap measures surface stresses in roll gap. Both sensors were implemented inside testing roll. The sensors were designed by structural analysis to obtain good measurement characteristic - temperature response, measuring range, accuracy etc.
