Original Abstract

Using resistive tomography as the applicable method, the authors analyze the influence exerted by electrode positioning on the reconstruction of images capturing the internal structure of an investigated object. Within the presented research, the sensitivity of the algorithm to different electrode placement configurations was tested under several 3-D computer simulations that represented the imaging of the internal structure of a human forearm (bone detection). In this context, the influence of electrode positioning was examined also with respect to variation in the number of used electrodes. The results obtained via the performed conductivity reconstruction are presented in this paper together with a discussion of the properties characterizing the reconstruction process.
