Original Abstract

The article deals with present-day situation in High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) area with focus on future application in Super grid concept. The topic of HVDC is mainly concentrated on advantages and disadvantages of the system, comparison with High-Voltage Alternative Current (HVAC) systems and also on the systems components as the converter stations and HVDC lines and cables.
