On the project

Description in English
The aim of the project consists in a refmement of existing models of electromagnetic emission whixh occurs in solids when cracks are formed and to set forth its applications in civil engineering and geophysics. The basic problem consists in finding the recording threshold for the electric, magnetic and electromagnetic field components. To this end a low noise preamplifier will be implemented which will allow noise level signals to be amplified. Furthermore, an apparatus will be designed to separate theelectromagnetic emission signals from random voltages in the electronic setup. A problem to solve consists in a decision whether the capacitor antenna detects the true electromagnetic field or a mere electric charge redistribution. Another problem is whether the low frequency signal relaxation is due to the dipole moment drop in time or the electric charge being driven away from the crack. Therefore, an experimental study of the effect of humidity on the low fiequency signal relaxation time will be car
