On the project

The specific research investigates an innovative method of in-line filament drying for 3D printing using a microwave field. The aim is to replace the lengthy (several hours) preheating of the material in dryers with a fast, energy-efficient process that takes place in real time directly during printing. The research focuses on process stability, prevention of thermal damage to the polymer and verification of the mechanical properties of the resulting components compared to commonly available technologies.
