Navrhovaný projekt je koncipován jako výrazně mezioborový s přesahem do řady oblastí - zpracování signálů/obrazů, bioinformatiky, lékařských a biologických vědy. Sdružuje tedy několik témat, která jsou poměrně odlišná, avšak jejich základem je využívání inženýrských přístupů pro řešení celé řady vědeckých problémů (specifických či obecných).
