On the project

Understanding how coordination and electronic structure control reactivity at isolated metal sites is central to single-atom catalysis. Using graphene-supported 2D metal–organic frameworks as model systems, this project combines quantitative reactivity measurements (TPD, IRAS) at TU Wien with atomic-scale characterization at CEITEC to disentangle structural and electronic effects and establish structure–reactivity relationships in low-dimensional hybrid materials.
