Project detail

Insertion of Pt and Au to 2D metal-organic frameworks on graphene to induce topological properties.

On the project

The project focuses on the on-surface synthesis of triphenylene-based 2D metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) on graphene as a platform for materials with enhanced spin-orbit coupling and potential topological properties. HTTP-based MOFs will be realized first with transition metals (Fe, Ni) and then with heavy atoms (Pt, Au). Growth and structure will be characterized using in situ UHV techinques (LEEM/LEED, STM, XPS).
