On the project

The project focuses on the development of a novel method for the direct detection and mapping of microplastics in aquatic organism tissues. The approach is based on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), enabling the analysis of zebrafish (Danio rerio) tissue sections. A key innovation lies in automated hyperspectral data processing using chemometric techniques, allowing differentiation of polymers from the biological matrix.
