On the project

Cybersecurity Innovation Hub II (CIH II) is designed as the continuation and expansion of the successful CIH project—currently the only European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) in the Czech Republic focused solely on cybersecurity. In line with the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) and the call DIGITAL-2025-EDIH-EU-EEA-08-CONSOLIDATION-STEP, CIH II addresses emerging challenges related to the transformative potential of AI technologies, evolving legislation, and geopolitical and technological developments. CIH II supports the transition to an AI-enabled secure society and economy, offering services that help businesses and public entities understand and mitigate cyber risks related to AI. The hub builds on a multidisciplinary team and robust infrastructure (e.g., CyberRange.cz, BUTCA cyber arena), while actively participating in European ecosystems like AI Factories, Testing and Experimentation Facilities, and the EuroQCI initiative. It provides services aligned with the four core EDIH roles: “Test Before Invest,” training and skills development, support for accessing finance, and innovation ecosystem building. CIH II maintains strong national outreach and fosters cross-border cooperation with European EDIHs, contributing to the formation of the Central European EDIH Network. Target sectors include SMEs, public institutions, healthcare, education, and critical infrastructure. CIH II leverages advanced technologies such as secure quantum communication and collaborates with key national partners like the Czech National Cybersecurity Authority (NÚKIB), academic institutions, and digital inclusion initiatives (e.g., Czechitas). Its mission is to raise the digital maturity of Czech and European society by enhancing cybersecurity readiness and facilitating the safe adoption of advanced digital technologies, particularly at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI.
