Project is focused on supporting the development and adoption of artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic, with an emphasis on practical applications, technological infrastructure, and skills development, enabling deeper integration of the Czech AI ecosystem into the European network of AI Factories and other AI initiatives. The main component of the project is the acquisition and operation of the new KarolAIna supercomputer, a computing infrastructure optimized for AI workloads, which will build on the successful petascale system Karolina installed and managed by IT4Innovations national supercomputing center at VSB. This infrastructure is designed to serve a broad spectrum of users, including industry, public administration, research teams, and startups, providing access to advanced computational resources necessary for AI model training, deployment, and experimentation.

Projekt je zaměřen na podporu rozvoje a přijetí umělé inteligence v České republice s důrazem na praktické aplikace, technologickou infrastrukturu a rozvoj dovedností, což umožní hlubší integraci českého ekosystému umělé inteligence do evropské sítě AI Factories a dalších iniciativ v oblasti umělé inteligence. Hlavní součástí projektu je pořízení a provoz nového superpočítače KarolAIna, výpočetní infrastruktury optimalizované pro pracovní zátěže AI, který naváže na úspěšný petascale systém Karolina instalovaný a spravovaný národním superpočítačovým centrem IT4Innovations při VŠB. Tato infrastruktura je navržena tak, aby sloužila širokému spektru uživatelů, včetně průmyslu, veřejné správy, výzkumných týmů a startupů, a poskytovala přístup k pokročilým výpočetním zdrojům nezbytným pro trénink, nasazení a experimentování s modely AI.
