On the project

This project is dedicated to the detailed study of the electronic processes (namely energy and charge transfer) taking place upon photoexcitation in materials and systems for organic solar cells structures, while correlating these processes in structures with varying transparency. Such study will create a significant knowledge base for a future design of semitransparent photonic devices. The experimental investigation of properties and processes by ultrafast time resolved spectroscopy and other advanced methods will be supported by theoretical study (quantum-mechanical modeling) with respect to the molecular structure of the state-of-the-art small molecule organic semiconductors, which will be synthesized. Novel materials with optimized molecular structure will be subsequently proposed and prepared based on the findings. Finally, the experimental and theoretical findings will be verified on proposed model semitransparent organic solar cells.
