On the project
Plasma polymerization is a versatile method for the deposition of films with variable properties that are tuned by a simple variation of the deposition conditions. This project proposes investigation of the role of unsaturated C-to-N bonds and free radicals trapped in amine plasma polymers by creating a library of organic coatings. It will uncover the complex relations between the variable chemistry and structure of plasma polymers and their interaction with proteins.
