On the project

This project advances the understanding of slurry particle erosion in real engineering flows by developing novel experimental and numerical approaches. Current methods rely on simplified geometries and high-velocity tests, limiting applicability. We will design innovative measurement stations replicating realistic turbulent and cavitating flows, integrating high-precision optical techniques. Key objectives include improving erosion models, validating CFD simulations, and investigating erosion-cavitation interactions. The outcomes will enhance material durability, optimize industrial designs, and support sustainable energy solutions.
