On the project
The sub-project aims to develop the skills of the participating partners in quantum technologies. The main goals include A) technologies for implementing integrated electrical and optical traps, which will allow the parallel trapping of more ions or nanoparticles in confined spaces, including control of the cooling of these particles to low motional states. Such particles will be useful to detect effects at the quantum level, such as changes in the magnetic and electric fields or the measurement of forces on the order of pN. Furthermore, B) the technological procedures for the construction and assembly of compact vacuum chambers, into which the integration of the mentioned traps will be possible, will be developed. An important goal will also be developing C) technology to prepare commercially unavailable elements based on optical fibres and diffractive structures, which are necessary for the parameterization of laser beams. The sub-project will also aim to develop D) techniques for the simultaneous transfer of a stable radio and optical frequency over a single optical fibre with suppressed acoustically induced phase noise.
