On the project
Description in EnglishThe project aims to design a system that would calculate precipitation values in the radio paths of this dense network of microwave links in urbanized areas using data from microwave links - the value of the attenuation of the received signal level induced by the passage of the signal through droplets. The system will significantly facilitate the spatio-temporal localization of precipitation events and offer a more accurate quantification of extreme precipitation in inner-city areas, where the accuracy and availability of standard methods at a sufficient level is limited. The system would offer more accurate detailed information on the current precipitation in the citites that will be available to the end user faster and that would help issuing meteorological warnings for the area.
Key words in Englishmicrowave link, rainfall, attenuation, rainrate, precipitation measurement, spatial distribution, nb-iot rain gauge
