On the project

The project deals with theranostic nanoparticles based on liposomal siRNA-complex (lipoplex), which can handle requirements on a successful anticancer drug nanoformulation. Lipoplexes are made by injection method to form bilayer particles, and therapeutic siRNA is inserted into the lipoplex core by electrostatic interactions. Lipoplexes will combine unique gene silencing therapy properties with diagnostic capabilities mediated by gadolinium-based contrast agents. These multiunctional nanoparticles will pave new avenues for cancer theranostics.
