On the project

The use of metallic nanoparticles with twin and special grain boundaries is of great interest for tuning of plasmonic properties and achieving an enhanced spontaneous emission depending on the environment, for plasmonic devices. The objective of current proposal is to understanding the relationship between the nanoparticle shape, local structure and energetics of grain boundaries in hcp Mg metallic nanoparticles by atomistic simulation.
