Aim of this project is to synthesise organic ligands with trigonal symmetry as suitable ligands for Single Molecule Magnets (SMMs). N,S and O-donor ligands will be prepared. Lathanides such as Gd and Dy and transition metals Fe and Co will be used as central atoms. Prepared molecules will be investigated by Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Infrared spectroscopy (IR), X-Ray Diffraction methods and by magnetic measurements (SQUID, EPR).
