Until recently, the sulphate anhydrite-based binders were not used in our building industries. The main reason is the fact that the territory of the Czech Republic does not provide the necessary raw material source. In recent years, nevertheless, the anhydrite binder for building represents a high-quality construction material, especially in the production of dry mortar mixtures. The speed of anhydrite hydration and related binder hardening is very slow and only partial under normal conditions. The respective hydration kinetics can be inuenced by substances called exciters of anhydrite binder solidi cation and hardening. Therefore, the submitted project focuses on a detailed study of the mechanism and kinetics of hydration of anhydrite binders the understanding of which enables to optimize and targetedly control not only the course of hydration but also the binder properties achieved.
