Návrh projektu je zaměřen na výzkum a modelování hodnocení kvality obrazu v technických obrazových systémech, kde je rozhodujícím hodnotitelem pozorovatel. Záměrem projektu je příprava modelů a prostředků vhodných pro perceptuální optimalizaci těchto systémů. Náplň projektu zahrnuje vytvoření databáze typických zkreslení obrazové informace v systémech snímání, přenosu, reprodukce, záznamu a zpracování obrazové informace. Pozornost bude věnována i analýze a modelování vlivů současných i přicházejících metod kódování a přenosu videa na kvalitu obrazu nebo idea. Kriteria kvality obrazu budou testována a modelována včetně optimalizace a definována s ohledem na hodnocení celkové funkce systému s důrazem na QoE (Quality of Experience). Získané znalosti a závislosti budou zpracovány ve formě vhodné pro perceptuální optimalizaci. Projekt bude řešen v návaznosti na aktivity skupiny VQEG a připravovaného projektu COST, který se týká Quality of Experience (QoE).

Description in English
The proposed project is targeted to the research and modeling of image quality assessment in technical image systems where a human observer is a final evaluator. The aim is a formulation of models and means suitable for perceptual optimization of these systems. The project content includes a database creation of typical image distortions and artifacts in systems for sensing, transmission, reproduction, retrieving and processing of image information. Attention will be also paid to the analysis and modeling of the impacts of current and emerging video coding and transmission tools on the subjective image/video quality. The image quality criteria will be tested and modeled including optimization and defined for automated evaluation of the overall system performance with emphasis on QoE (Quality of Experience). Acquired knowledge and dependencies will be prepared in a form uitable for perceptual optimization. The project will be solved in a close relation to the VQEG activities and COST project under preparation.
