COMPETENCE

The Head of the Department is subordinate to the Chancellor.

The Department ensures the agenda of quality management and quality evaluation, support for digitalisation through process mapping, advanced data analysis and the monitoring of strategic objectives, and ensures in particular:

•  the preparation and production of analyses and related documents in support of the strategic management of the university,
•  the drawing up of the strategic plan of the university and its annual implementation plans,
•  the monitoring of the fulfilment of the strategic objectives of the university,
•  the preparation of annual evaluation interviews with the units of BUT,
•  the coordination of relevant development and subsidy programmes of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (institutional programme, centralised development programmes, programme to support the strategic management of higher education institutions, etc.),
•  the preparation and drawing up of the annual report on activities and of the quality evaluation report, including their supplements.

Two Sections are defined within the Department: the Digitalisation and AI Support Section and the Data Analytics Section.

The Digitalisation and AI Support Section ensures in particular:

• support for the process management of the university, including process mapping for the purpose of supporting the optimisation and digitalisation of processes,
• central supervision of the organisational structure of the university,
• methodological support for the use of AI tools in the activities of the university.

The Data Analytics Section ensures in particular:

• the preparation of internal and external analyses aimed at supporting the decision-making of the university management,
• the preparation, production and evaluation of surveys and questionnaire investigations among the relevant target audiences,
• the monitoring and evaluation of international university rankings,
• the drawing up of specifications for modifications to the university information system in support of analytical activities, the coordination of activities with the developers and administrators of the university information systems (with a focus on data outputs).
