Competence

The Department ensures in particular:

• all activities relating to the creative development of BUT and to its coordination and evaluation at BUT,
• the management of administrative support, the coordination, documentation and methodology of science and research in the area of:
  • basic research and creative activities,
  • applied research,
  • innovation and contract research,
• the evaluation of the quality of research and of scientific performance,
• cooperation in the methodological management of the evaluation of the personal development of scientific and research staff,
• the management of the agenda of habilitation procedures and procedures for appointment as professor,
• the methodology, administration and distribution of normative financing of science and research from institutional support (IP) and specific research (SpV), and support for the compilation of the science and research budget of BUT,
• the coordination and management of the agenda of the BUT Scientific Board,
• proposals for extraordinary scholarships for doctoral students for significant scientific results,
• the organisation, evaluation of and reporting on the internal grant competition within specific research,
• the evaluation of results within the incentive system for increasing the competitiveness of science and research at BUT,
• the coordination of cooperation between the Centres of Excellence, the regional centres and the units of BUT.
