The Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology (FaVU BUT) once again invites the public to its traditional graduate exhibition. The official opening will take place on June 25 at 4:00 PM, and the exhibition will be open to the public until July 27. In addition to the traditional venue at the House of the Lords of Kunštát, part of the exhibition will also be on display at Špilberk Castle.Gambit: FaVU BUT Graduates Present Their Works at the House of the Lords of Kunštát and at Špilberk Castle. | Author: Alina MatějováThe Gambit exhibition offers a unique insight into a wide range of topics and perspectives explored in graduate theses from 17 FaVU studios of fine arts and design. For the second year in a row, the exhibition also includes graduates of the international master’s program Fine Art and Design Studio. Visitors will encounter a diverse array of artistic projects, curated this year by a team from the Game Media Studio. The central feature of the exhibition is an interactive cinema, giving viewers the choice between audiovisual artworks, behind-the-scenes documentation, and graduate profiles. The screenings will be accompanied by spatial installations and other selected graduate works.
The exhibition's concept and design are inspired by casino aesthetics. According to the curatorial team, however, “it’s not just an analogy to a risk-based environment with an uncertain outcome – the main unifying theme is the ability to adapt creative methods and perspectives to unpredictable situations across diverse ecosystems.”The exhibition is traditionally held with the Brno House of Arts at the House of the Lords of Kunštát and is newly extended to Špilberk Castle in cooperation with the Brno City Museum. | Author: Polina DavydenkoThe exhibition is traditionally held in cooperation with the Brno House of Arts, located at the House of the Lords of Kunštát. This year, thanks to a partnership with the Brno City Museum, it also extends to Špilberk Castle, where selected graduate works from the Studio of Spatial Art are presented within the *Modules* showcase.
This year’s edition also includes a side program. In addition to guided tours, the exhibition will feature the Summer School of Magic led by Veronika Vlková and Hana Magdoňová, and the Summer School of Creative Writing with Bernardeta Babáková and Daniel Nováček.
