It’s over. This year’s Czech Academic Games, held during the last week of June in Ostrava, have concluded, and Brno University of Technology can consider them a great success. BUT students won 37 medals and placed fifth overall. BUT sent over 100 athletes to the Czech Academic Games. | Author: Czech Academic Games Brno University of Technology sent over 100 individual athletes to compete in swimming, finswimming, athletics, orienteering, karate, judo, beach volleyball, table tennis, and team competitions in frisbee and 3x3 basketball. Students from seven faculties (FME, FEEC, FCE, FIT, FCH, FA, and FBM) and two university institutes (CESA and CEITEC) traveled to Ostrava for the games. They competed, for example, in swimming, athletics or karate. | Author: Czech Academic Games BUT students in Ostrava won 37 medals (15 gold, 15 silver, 7 bronze) and achieved a total of 86 point-scoring placements (1st–6th place in a discipline), which is a significant increase compared to last year’s games, where they earned 58 placements. Overall, Brno University of Technology ranked 5th, just 0.23 points behind Palacký University Olomouc. The university ranking was topped by Masaryk University, followed by Charles University, with Ostrava University taking third place this year.
