From sports technologies, through artificial intelligence and nuclear engineering, to special IT programs just for girls. Brno University of Technology presents summer schools that will take place across its nine faculties and university departments from June to September 2024. Twenty-eight summer schools will offer elementary, high school, and university students inspiration, fun, and stress-free education. Participants will explore diverse topics, experience the university environment, and try out what they enjoy in practice.Letní škola mechatroniky. | Autor: FSI VUT Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME) The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering plans to spend the summer with technology and has prepared five summer schools for students. High school students will discover what washing machines, coffee makers, and e-bikes have in common at the Summer School of Mechatronics, which will take place from August 19-23. Participants will learn the basics of mechanics, electronics, and computer control while working on a team project. Registration closes on June 30. At the Summer School of 3D Printing and Design - IngCamp, high school students will become engineers and designers. They will design a vehicle propulsion mechanism, scan a car body to modify in virtual reality, and even compete in a pneumobile race. Participants can choose between two sessions: July 15-19 or August 19-23. Registration is available here. The Summer School of Mechanical Engineering Technology will introduce students to the world of casting, machining, forming, and 3D printing. High school students will gain practical experience in modern industry. The event date will be published on the faculty's website. The Summer School of Programming, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics - AI.Camp is ideal for robot and computer enthusiasts. Due to its complexity, the summer school is divided into two groups—aiCamp for elementary school students and aiCamp for high school students. Participants will learn how to use a graphical language, control mobile robots, and communicate with artificial intelligence. Dates will be announced on the faculty's website. The final summer school at FME is the Summer School of Material Sciences: Journey into the World of Materials. It is designed for those interested in material structures and nanotechnology. The program, which runs from August 26-29, includes a tour of Tescan, a company specializing in electron microscopes. Registration closes on July 14. Centre of Sports Activities (CESA) + Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC) The Summer School of Sports Technologies will introduce students to the intersection of technology and kinesiology in electrical engineering labs, sports facilities, and specialized diagnostics centers. High school students will test their movement abilities, analyze sports training, and try endurance tests. The program runs from June 24-26, and registration closes on June 1. Participants will explore biometrics, programming, and virtual reality, create a prototype on a 3D printer, and develop their own chat application. The school will take place from August 26-30, and registration closes once capacity is filled. Elementary school students interested in game development can join the GameDev summer camp. They will create their own game and learn the basics of game programming in Python and Godot. The camp runs from July 8-12, and registration closes on June 10. Additionally, the faculty will host the international Brno International Summer School in Information Technology from July 8-19, aimed at university students of informatics or computer engineering. The program includes expert courses and visits to tech companies. The full article continues with summer schools at various other faculties, including the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC), the Faculty of Chemistry (FCH), the CEITEC Research Center, the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), the Faculty of Architecture (FA), and the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE). Each faculty offers unique educational and hands-on experiences in their respective fields. Author: Lenka Hubáčková
