Properties of wood and wood-based materials for structural purposes
Limit states in TS.
Spatial configuration of TS.
Rules of computer modelling of TS.
Basic types of strain of timber members and methods of their verifying. Connections of TS and examples of their application.
Plane solid and truss structures – girders, frames, and arches. Rules of structural design and theoretical analysis, significant details.
Securing timber structures against global loss of stability.
Spatial timber structures – laminated structures, spatial trusses, ribbed domes, vaults and shells. Wood-based panels and their usage in load-carrying systems. TS for residential, administrative, agricultural and other purposes.
Fire resistance of timber buildings. Production and assembly of TS, protection and maintenance of TS. Examples of realized TS and principles of their reconstruction and rehabilitation.
