Course detail

Blended Intensive programme Erasmus+: Art and Cities

FA-BAC-WEAcad. year: 2024/2025

The workshop focuses on connecting digital art with architecture through projection mapping. Students will learn the theoretical foundations of this technology, learn to analyze urban space and understand the relationship between facade, light and onlooker in the context of public space.

Visual storytelling and conceptualization are an important part of the course, which will allow students to create narrative compositions reflecting the character of the city and architecture. They will gain practical skills in working with specialized software such as Resolume and master projection calibration techniques on real objects.

The workshop supports teamwork and an interdisciplinary approach, integrating architecture, art and digital technologies in an international context. Students will collaborate in teams with students from Riga and Dublin, have the opportunity to network and experience the challenges of working in an international team.

The output will be a site-specific mapping installation that will be publicly presented in the urban environment of Brno.
