- 1. Environmental compartments, anthropogenic activities and influence on natural systems.
- 2. Fundamentals of waste legislation, terminology of waste management. Circular economy, LCA. Sources and types of waste, treatment strategies.
- 3. Waste analysis.
- 4. Environmental biotechnology, basic terms, processes. Composting I.
- 5. Environmental biotechnology: composting II, vermicomposting.
- 6. Environmental biotechnology: anaerobic digestion.
- 7. Thermal methods of waste treatment – incineration.
- 8. Thermal methods of waste processing – pyrolysis, gasification, product recovery.
- 9. Landfilling.
- 10. Waste types, source of waste, hazardous waste, solidification, tailings impoundment.
- 11. Industrial activities and waste.
- 12. Plastic waste and its recycling.
- 13. Alternative technologies of waste treatment, new waste types.
