Diploma Project - Bibliography and Goals

The second of courses focused on preparation of students for independent professional, scientific or creative activities leading to the successful elaboration and defense of a diploma thesis. Attention is paid mainly to the elaboration of critical overview of the current state of knowledge in the field of the diploma thesis. Emphasis is placed on mastering the methodology of systematic search specified by the research question. The course is followed by Diploma Project - Methods and Results and Diploma Project - Results and Discussion.

Entry knowledge
- knowledge acquired during bachelor's and master's studies, which are relevant to the selected topic of the diploma thesis.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
- active participation in exercises (min. 10 out of 20 points),
- elaboration of a literary search (min. 25 out of 50 points),
- search debate and discussion (min. 15 out of 30 points).
Lectures: attendance is mandatory and controlled by the teacher.
Exercises: attendance is mandatory and controlled by the teacher.
Maximum of two absences are allowed in total. In case of long-term absence, compensation for missed classes is in the competence of the course guarantor.

- Ability to search for information and select relevant information sources.
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of scientific (academic) style of writing.
- Ability to think critically.
