Theory of Management

The course is designed so as to help students to find new, comprehensive solutions in management. The course offers the findings of current world trends in management, the ability to lead diversified teams of experts, and the knowledge from the area of social competences. Students are encouraged to link deep knowledge of the field with industrial practice.

Course curriculum
The lectures will be divided into several thematic blocks:
I. Management perspectives for the 21st century
The history and the thought legacy of management; management in a shared economy; new requirements for management in the period of the 4th Industrial Revolution
II. Success criteria for a manager and an entrepreneur
Personal effectiveness, ethics of work, team leadership
III. Advanced management methods and their application
Risk management, project management, CSR, value management
The course objective is to strengthen and deepen the knowledge of management, advanced management methods and the ability to use this knowledge in one’s own scientific work. Each student will have the opportunity during the study to focus his/her written term paper on current research issues from the perspective of management he/she is dealing with.
