The course provides a comprehensive overview of the principles and approaches to the analysis, design and management of corporate communications infrastructure and the possibilities of its implementation in the company.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Managerial competencies: deciding on the correctness of the designed solutions of the company's communication infrastructure and their technical and technological aspects
Specialized competencies: decision-making of system designs and projected solutions of the company's communication infrastructure and their technical and technological aspects

Prerequisites

Knowledge in the scope of the syllabus of the subject Computer Networks taught at FP BUT in Brno in the bachelor's study field of Management Informatics, 2nd year of LS and successful completion of the exam in this subject.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out only in the form of lectures. Analyzes of case studies are also performed on them.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Completion of the course is the same for all forms and types of teaching.
The exam is oral, it covers the whole issue of the content focus of the subject. If contact testing is not possible, testing will be performed online via MS Teams. A necessary condition is the functionality of the camera on the part of the student.
The condition for participation in the exam is the elaboration of the project and its submission no later than the 12th week of the semester.
The final evaluation is the weighted arithmetic average of the evaluation of the work (weight 0.25) and the evaluation of the oral exam (weight 0.75), while neither part must be insufficient.

1. Enterprise communication infrastructure (PKI) planning procedures, input analyzes, algorithms, technological-technical means.
2. PKI project - related standards, technical decrees and laws
3. PKI project - project goal, investor input requirements, their analysis, definitions, change procedures
4. PKI project - analysis and system design, PKI solution model
5. PKI project - PKI block diagram, interconnection of individual elements, number of channels and ports, bandwidth, requirements for transmission technologies
6. PKI project - choice of solution and its justification, solution proposal
7. Solution of horizontal and backbone section and central nodes of PKI, solution of key nodes
8. Specification of the design and materials of the PKI subsystems (nodes, lines, AP channels, etc.)
9. Budgets, coordination with other subsystems and professions
10. and 11. Solution schedules, technical reports
12. and 13. Methods of comparison of PKI systems, the method of incorporating the evaluation result into the assignment of tenders

Aims

The course is focused on the issue of corporate communication infrastructure, analysis of requirements for this infrastructure, their definition, methods of solving infrastructure designs and gaining practical skills with their design. Students will gain general knowledge about the principles of enterprise communication infrastructure, methods and approach to their solution and use in the design of communication infrastructure in the company. They will also gain knowledge with the processing of documentation for the award of contracts and the evaluation of tenders.
