Course curriculum

The lecture is aimed at X-ray micro- and nano- computed tomography (CT) technique, its theory, applications and related analytical techniques.
1. X-ray radiation, interaction of X-ray radiation with matter, radiology. Basics of X-ray computed tomography (CT).
2. Reconstruction from projections, basic concept, back projection, filtered back projection, sinogram.
3. Micro- and nano-CT systems and their components.
4. Practical use of micro- and nano-CT systems.
5. Experiment planning, visualization and analysis of measured data.
6. Metrology and quantification of microstructures.
7. Solid samples with porous and trabecular structures
8. Study of various structures resulting from material processing and / or environmental effects.
9. Study of defects caused by mechanical cause, deformation and cracks.
10. Surface extraction of and use of CT for dimensional control of different products and in reverse engineering.
11. Connection of tomography with other diagnostic methods.
