Diploma Thesis Project

The subject is oriented to deepen of the knowledge and abilities in the area of the professional writing communication. The result is writing of the diploma thesis. Key idea of the subject is intensification knowledge in the searching professional sources, background research, and accuracy of the citation. Educate the students to plan whole process of the designing and realizing of the diploma thesis writing. Introduce the key rules of the formal and continual standards of the diploma thesis. Educate students the effective presentation of the professional results and defence of own opinions.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be able to:
- design project of their diploma thesis, including schedule of Diploma Thesis processing
- solve the key problem, aims via appropriate methods and ways of the processing
- elaborate and evaluate the newest theoretical knowledge regarding the key problem according to
domestic and international sources
- realize critical analysis of current situation, eventually own research
- propose variants of the problems solving
- present the result of the work, defence the own opinions

Prerequisites

Students will continue on knowledge, skills and abilities have obtained in the area of risk management of businesses, compile professional sources, and work with different types of sources and texts. Prerequisite of the subject passing are professional knowledge obtaining during the study and their application for the real problems solving.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out through seminars that particularly support practical mastery of subject matter presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Knowledge and abilities will be evaluated permanently according following results:
Weight in % according to important of partial tasks:
1) Designing of the Diploma Thesis Project, including of the harmonogram 10%
2) Determination of the key problem, set up of the aims, methods and way of the problem solving 10%
3) Background research of domestic and international literature to the problem 10%
4) Critical analysis of current situation, eventually plan of the own research 20%
5) Processing of the results of the background research, critical analysis and research 20%
6) Proposal of the problems solving, economical evaluation of the proposal 30%

Aims

Obtaining knowledge and abilities in the area of writing professional communication.
Intensify searching and investigation knowledge of professional sources, processing of background research, legitimacy of citation.
Educate to plan whole process of diploma thesis creating and introduce the key rules of its formal and continual standard.
Introduce them the newest knowledge in the methodology and theory of the diploma thesis creating.
Educate them a basic rules of the effective presentation of the professional results and own opinion defence
