Professional Practice

Professional practice is of four-week duration (160 hours). It is completed in companies of electrical and electronic industry in the Czech Republic or abroad. Students arrange for the practice themselves. This practice needs to be done outside of regular teaching (especially in the summer holiday period) from the beginning to the end of undergraduate studies at FEEC.
Practice is included at the end of the last year of undergraduate studies after a written confirmation of its completion. Practice can be divided into sub-sections - continuous duration of each segment must not be less than 2 weeks (10 working days).

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be able to:
- discuss problems caused at work on a professional task,
- apply the knowledge obtained in technical courses in practice,
- analyze problems arising from their professional work on tasks in an electrical engineering firm,
- propose a solution to a task in the field of electrical engineering specified by the professional courses they completed during their study.


Completion of obligatory and optional technical courses in which students acquire knowledge in a defined area given by professional practice.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Professional Practice takes 4 weeks. It is necessary to execute it in some electro technical firm, practical knowledge of students are outputs of it. Professional Practice is supported by e-learning (Moodle).

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course is evaluated by credit, which the student receives at the end of the last year of undergraduate studies after submission of a written confirmation of the completion of professional practice.

Course curriculum

Professional practice for 4 weeks in the electronic industry.


The aim is for students to complete their professional practice in a company of the electronic industry, in research and development institutes, or with communication and other electronic media providers in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Awarding the credit is conditional on submitting to the course guarantor a written confirmation of the completion of required practice.
