Safety and Risky Behavior

The course is aimed at the security aspects of society and risk behavior of humans in stress situations. Introduces the basics of legislation in the field of national security, crisis management protection against emergencies. In other aspects focuses on the impact of internal and external factors on individual and group behavior, behavior and decision-making. It deals with specific situations and threats, the issue of victims and prevention of risk behavior.

Students gain new knowledge and skills in the field of risk behavior in humans load situations, the potential for prevention and associated legislation.

Course curriculum

1) Introduction. Safety and security policy of the State Security Council. Overview of the basic legislation in the sphere of security policy and procedures for emergency response.
2) The basic legislation on IP, Environmental, and emergency planning
3) Safety and danger, danger, risk. Identify sources of risk. Dangers and hazards of the course or event. Behavior and experience in extreme situations. Criteria of age, vulnerable groups.
4) Decision-making process, mistakes and errors in decision making. Decision making under risk and uncertainty.
5) Individual and group behavior. Psychology of the crowd. Model behavior. Aggression, anxiety and fear in response to stress situations, altruism and absence pomoci.Podstata and causes of stress, stressors, defense mechanisms.
6) Psychological burden. Personal potential and perception of stress in stress situations.
7) PTSD, causes of, symptoms, course.
8) Specific threatening. Situation of attack, kidnapping and hostage taking.
9) Personality and risky behavior. The motivation of human behavior. Pathological forms of behavior.
10) Populations with a greater risk of traumatic situations.
11) Communication in difficult situations, non-verbal communication. Mediation as a method of conflict resolution.
12) Can you help victims. Victims - damage. Behavior of victims in distress situations.
13) Prevention. Types of preventive measures. Forecasting. The importance of external and internal factors on the emergence of risk behavior.
