Martial Arts

The subject Martial Arts will acquaint the students with the philosophy, ethics, contents and elementary techniques of selected martial arts. Students will master the basic stances with position changing, kicks, blocks and simple combinations of techniques, and they will learn basic relaxation and stretching techniques.

For the awarding of a classified credit, active participation in the tuition is required, as well as the submission of an exercise plan for a selected form of exercise (50 points) and the successful passing of a test of knowledge (50 points).
Form of the examination and the final classification of the subject:
Submission of an exercise plan for a selected form of exercise (50 points) and the successful passing of a test of knowledge (50 points). In total, a maximum of 100 points can be obtained within the framework of the classification, while the classification is as follows:

Course curriculum
- The theoretical part deals with the orientation of students within the classification of combat sports, and teaches the basics for the determination of the limits of a counter-attack action, the theoretical knowledge of legal regulations Ss. 14, 13 of the Penal Code and the skill to evaluate a situation which has arisen and choose an adequate procedure.
- The practical part is based on the mastering of elementary skills in the area of falling techniques and the techniques of basic grips and grapples for self-defence, the basic combination of defence techniques for a given kind of attack and on mastering first aid according to model situations which can appear during self-defence.
- Selected combat sports (Karate, Kung-fu, Judo, Self-defence, Aikido, Ju-Jitsu).
