Course detail
Waste Treatment and Recycling
FSI-KODAcad. year: 2010/2011
Seminar focuses on disposal of solid municipal and industrial wastes via landfilling and composting as well as recycling of selected materials. Introductory lessons present current environmental legislation and relevant acts, which is followed by waste classification. Methods of wastes composting along with potential utilization of compost, waste landfilling and recultivation of closed down landfills are demonstrated. Much of the seminar deals with recycling of selected materials and description of individual recycling technologies. Main parts of the course are based on materials from University of Manchester and Institute for Science and Technology within TEMPUS project.
