Original Abstract

This contribution is focused on worldwide commonly used synthetic musk compounds (e.g. traseolide, tonalide, musk xylene) and their occurrence in water biota, specifically in fish tissue. The statistical analysis of data sets with doubly left-censored observations is used. For statistical evaluation the method of maximum likelihood for censored samples is used. As for model distributions, the exponential and Weibull distributions are considered. For the purpose of comparisons, the asymptotic properties of maximum likelihood estimates are used. Based on simulations, the optimal comparison procedure for the small range data sets is chosen. The results of the statistical analysis show concentration of the musk compounds in water biota, and the impact of wastewater treatment plant on water ecosystem.
