EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH OF AEROSOL DEPOSITION IN A MODEL OF HUMAN LUNGS

Pro měření transportu a depozice aerosolu v lidských plicích byly vytvořeny dva fyzické modely. První z nich bude sloužit pro měření rychlosti pohybu částic optickými měřicími metodami, proto byl vyroben z průhledného materiálu. Druhý model je segmentovaný, takže je možné jej opakovaně rozkládat a vyhodnotit lokální depoziční charakteristiky. Na druhém modelu byly provedeny experimenty s depozicí aerosolu, jejichž vyhodnocení bylo provedeno fluorometrickou metodou a metodou vážení segmentů. Aerosol byl vyroben kondenzačním generátorem monodisperzního aerosolu z di-2-ethyl hexyl sebacatu. Velikost částic byla 3 um. Výsledky experimentů získané fluorometrickou metodou a metodou vážení se liší a bude nutné provést větší množství experimentů, aby byla odhalena příčina rozdílů.

Two different physical models were fabricated for measurements of transport and deposition of aerosol in human lungs. The first model was made for measurement of velocity of particles by optical measuring methods; therefore it had to be fabricated from optically transparent material. The second model is divided into segments to allow repeated disassembling and evaluation of local deposition characteristics. Experiments with deposition of aerosol were performed on the segmented model and the evaluation was realized by fluorometry and by weighting of segments. Aerosol was produced by condensation monodisperse aerosol generator from di-2-ethyl hexyl sebacate. Size of particles was 3 um. Results acquired by fluorometry and weighting of segments differ; therefore more experiments have to be done to disclose a reason of differences.
