Original Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyse micromechanical aspects of intergranular initiation of brittle fracture as a micromechanism that can be well susceptible to metallurgic cleanliness and cumulative degradation of material. The main purpose or this work is to quantify causes and characteristics governing the intergranular fracture initiation and occurence or this fracture micromechanism in competition with cleavage one. Comparison of measured properties with characteristics calculated from statistical models for intergranular and cleavage fracture should be made.
