Original Abstract

A new fixation with threaded Medin K wires has been compared with standard AO technique for a two twist TBW. Thawed fresh frozen human elbow joints were used for this study. The gap distraction increased when a moment was applied and almost returned to its previous state when the moment was removed due to visco-elastic behaviour of the ligament. Early gap opening seems to be a featur of the TBW when loaded. The new technique of two partially threaded K wires may compete with the fixation of the two twist TBW under these clinical conditions.
