Original Abstract

Problematic of a heat flux in the investment casting is specific against the other casting technologies. Thickness and volume of a shell is much lower then other types of molds. Also an accumulation of the heat in a shell is much lower so most of the heat is radiated to environment. It is needed to know heat transfer parameters and coefficients for accurate simulation. This work is aimed to measuring and computing coefficient of the heat transfer between shell-mold and metal and computing of emisivity of the shell. The start of this work was measuring of emissivity. A thermo camera and thermocouples were used as measuring equipment. Also a pyrometer was used to measure this value but using the thermo camera seems as more accurate. Correct value of the heat transfer coefficient was needed to improve a prediction of casting defects by simulations. It can not be directly measured. Value of the heat transfer coefficient for shell-casting system must be obtained in two steps. The first step is to measure thermal fields and the second step is to run the inverse simulation and analyze it.
