Original Abstract

Corrosion is a spontaneous, gradual transformation of metals or non-metallic organic and inorganic materials. It arises as a result of a chemical or electrochemical reaction of the base material with the external environment. Electrochemical corrosion is a case of corrosion of metals in electrolytes (conductive environment). It consists of two partial reactions – anodic and cathodic reaction. Samples of Fe with PUR foam and with pure PS and with magnesium were monitored. The corrosion medium was NaCl and SBL solutions.
