Original Abstract

This article describes the basic characteristics of adaptive or biodynamic lighting systems and their effects on the human body and the artificial luminance on the night sky. In the second part, it describes the luminance measurements made on a road illuminated by such a lighting system from the manufacturer Tungsram, with emphasis on the description of changes of luminance with respect to time. The measurements were taken with a luminance analyzer and the results show a smooth decline of luminance of the road – from the 100 % in the beginning to approx. 77,5 % during the first phase and from those 77,5 % to approximately 40,5 % during the second phase of the switching.
