Original Abstract

The paper briefly describes introduction of modern avionic systems for general aviation airplanes in the recent years. It also describes procedures used to ensure required level of safety. Procedures are described on the practical example of electric and avionic system of the small 4(5)-seat airplane. Reliability analyses in this category were not usual in a past (at least not in such extension). Topics covered are: reliability estimates from industrial standards and commercial databases; an example of FMEA; recommended simplifications and solution procedures for Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) - based on SAE ARP4761. Comparison of results for simplified RBD solution with results from "precise" solution using Reliasoft BlockSim 6.2 FTI is also included. The paper is closely connected to the paper "Reliability of Aircraft in Design and Certification Stage".
